Hi there - was wondering if anyone knew any good and safe places to snorkel without a guide or paying for a day trip around Nassau/paradise Island/Providence area?

Thank you.

Sorry, but snorkeling from the beach in Nassau or Paradise Island isn't very good any more. Construction, overuse, leeching, boating and other things have destroyed the reefs surrounding the islands.

Most decent reefs are a mile or so from shore.

It's best to enjoy snorkeling as part of a tour. There are many to choose from, from dedicated snorkeling with Stuart Cove or Bahama Divers, to catamaran and sailboat trips with Flying Cloud, Seahorse and Barefoot Cruises. Day trips to Rose Island via sea Island Adventure or Robinson Crusoe and even the Booze Cruise will take you out for some nice reef snorkeling.

Lots to choose from.
