I have read several reviews about this Sandals and was surprised when most of them were negative(the rooms are horrible and ols, the food id horrible etc). We usualy take a trip the end of Jan and had planned to go to Cancun, until the hurricane. We are well traveled and I would like an honest opinion on this resort or any other all inclusive resort in the Bahama's. We are only going for a long weekend so we do not want to spend all of our time flying. We have also looked int Cabo Mexico but seems to be pretty cold there in Jan. Any help will be appreciated.

I haven't been since the Hurricanes last year when the island took quite a battering but they closed for several months and did extensive repairs/renovations.

I wonder why you have been given such negative reports on Sandals and what kind of expectations the "reviewers" had?

We have stayed for long-weekends several times and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the rooms they are a good size, clean, the furniture is fresh/modern. The food in the restaurants isn't "spectacular" BUT, we go for the very purpose of having the odd weekend without cooking/clean-up. Not to boast or anything but to give you an idea: we (Nassau residents) leave a very comfortable large house and property with great views and swimming pool and check in there, just to relax (massages etc.) and we do like our food ~ Just choose the right restaurant. The bars make good Margaritas BTW.

We too are well traveled BTW and are off to Rio and BA next week. We've stayed in what turned out to be a crummy place now and then, but Sandals in Nassau isn't one of them.

You might want to know that the beach isn't huge but none of them are on Cable Beach.
