So I've heard the horror stories about this place and I've even read a few here. Would it be as bad in late October? I'm looking for a new destination then and I figure most of the poorly mannered families with children will be in school. Your thoughts?

We went with 2 kids at the end of June. Yes, there were alot of kids there but it is a kid place - slides, pools, etc. We did not have any problems at all. No running around, cutting lines, etc. In fact, my youngest met several friends each day in the pool who he would play with. The place is magnificent but there are alot of people there. It is not the quiet secluded type of place. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.

What about October, though. There's got to be a lot fewer children at that time, right?

Although there will be less kids and families in October, it's also the time of year when they close restaurants on a rotation, and some slides or pools are closed for repair. Lots of maintenace around the property. So it's hit or miss.

If you don't mind a little disappointment, this time of the year can be very nice. Weather is great, cool evenings, no crowds.

Thanks for the info! What about water temps? Still very warm, right?
