We are looking at this place for a few nights at the end of our July trip. Apparently, this is a brand new property and thus the rates are intro rates to garner interest. I was speaking with someone at another villa agency (the didn't have availability so she was trying to help) and she said this place is very nice. I haven't been personally though.

On VRBO.com it is # 112698 and there is a calendar.

I believe it is not a "villa" as you think I believe it is a part of someones home and they live upstairs and the rooms are downstairs but it is supposed to be very clean and very nice and for the price I don't think you could go wrong :)

Wow - that was quick! We are staying at the Westin for six nights (thanks to a $79 hotwire rate) and I flatly refuse to pay $429 for the seventh night. I started looking and realized we could get 2 nights elsewhere for less than one at Westin's rack rate.

Anyway, Sail View is available and we may end up taking it. Well have to rent a car but it would be very nice to spend the last couple of nights somewhere very quiet.

I thought this looked very nice but it was booked for our week. Can you tell me how you got that deal at the westin? What other places looked good to you?

I called the agency re: Sunset View and they only do 4-night minimums. Thus, it wasn't the right fit for us. Remember that we are not looking for the absolute perfect accommodation as our 2-night stay will be tacked on to the end of our trip. Other places I've looked at are: Coconut Coast Villas, Samuels Cottages, Star Villas (look nice, 9 properties to choose from), Sail View, Artistic Villas (several properties to choose from), and Estate Lindholm (which was, perhaps predictably, booked).

We were able to find availability everywhere except Estate Lindholm.

The website for Calabash Cottages looks nice, but i don't know if they offer A/C. Not necessary if you visit the Caribbean in the winter months, but it's necessary for me in the summer.

As for our hotwire rate... it was just luck. I knew that only one hotel (the Westin) was listed on Hotwire or Priceline for St. John. I put in some dates one day at work and lo and behold... a rate of $79 came up. I played with the dates a bit and we booked right then and there without another thought. By that evening, the rates had skyrocketed back to $369. Right place, right time. Early bird gets the worm. However you want to say it...
