Hi Dave~ We have a room booked for one night next month and we had to pay for it in full upfront. Two weeks later we received a welcome letter and receipt in the mail. I believe this is standard. Have a wonderful time!

Consider paying with a credit card. That way, you have some recourse should the place unexpectedly shut down for some reason (fire, flood, etc). I would think that to be fair given the prepayment requirement.

Don't worry... we too made a reservation with Suite St. John for a unit at Gallows Point. They allowed us to use a credit card for the initial deposit, but required a check for the entire balance one month prior to our arrival date.

Booking through Gallows Point directly, I believe you may use a credit card for the entire amount...

Dave, we too are staying at Gallows (leave tomorrow morning)!!!! When booking through Suite St. John, you can pay deposit with a credit card, but the balance which is due a month prior to your reservation is due in the form of a check. When booking through Gallows directly, you can pay the entire thing by credit card.

I wouldn't worry at all! We also got the receipt in the mail... Suite St. John has an excellent record... I've read many reviews about them and they're all glowing!

I just booked our stay at Gallows Point today for July. However, we booked directly with Gallows Point. We're staying 8 nights....paid a 3 night deposit with a credit card.

Can anyone tell me if noise from construction has become a problem at Gallows?

THanks for all the replies. We are leaving for St. John on April 3rd. We cannot wait!

I think I am going to get a certified check at the bank and have the check sent certified mail. I would like to leave as much of a paper trail as possible. Gallows Point has a shining reputation, but I never like paying for something before I get to enjoy it.
