Cinnamon Bay and Coral Bay in January |
|
Two of us are traveling to St. Thomas on cruise in late January. We have stayed for a week before on St John and want to spend our one day in USVI on St John. We'll take one of the ferries to St. John. We'd like to go to Cinnamon Bay for snorkeling/beach and then to Coral Bay for late lunch. Since we can't reserve a car for one day, what is the best way to get around St. John for these two areas? |

True that you won't be able to reserve a vehicle for only one day, but there's still a chance that you could walk up and get one. Get to Cruz Bay early and just check with the different agencies. If you can't get a vehicle, it's easy to get a taxi to Cinnamon. Getting to Coral Bay would be trickier. You'd have to get back to Cruz Bay, then either find a taxi to take you (although getting a return taxi could be quite a problem), or get the VITRAN bus (which isn't all that frequent). If it was me, I'd taxi to Cinnamon, then have my lunch in Cruz Bay. The possibility remains, though, that you'll be able to find a vehicle to rent if you walk in.

you can get a taxi to cinnamon bay, but that's as far as they will go. Go early because its hard to find a taxi back once the sun starts to set I think its like 15 minute taxi trip
