I would recommend an agency that represents more villas on the island than just 1 villa management company. They only have their villas that they can offer you. You want to have access to other potential villas on the island.

Sites like www.wheretostay.com and www.villascaribe.com have more villa selection, can offer other arrangements and also know the island intimately.

http://mclaughlinanderson.com/ is the agent for many villas. They are extremely knowledgable about the villas and very helpful.

I have to disagree with Luv. As a former STJ resident and a villa manager, I recommend that you work with an on island agent that represents houses on STJ only. They are right there if there is a problem and will not send their "on island" contact.

We have used www.vivacations.com a couple times and they are very accommodating and easy to work with. Very professional staff that lives on STJ and know the villas. Web site is broken down by areas on island making it easy to choose!

I'd second www.vivacations.com. Really knowledgeable, professional and friendly on- island local staff that go out of their way to serve you.

Carefreegetaways.com is also very good. I have not used, but have heard that Cateredto.com is very good. Have fun looking for the right villa!

We've been very happy with Destination St John. They'll arrange car rental and pick you up at the dock. They are located on St John.
