Gallows Point Resort |
|
We are planning a trip to St. John's in May and are planning on staying at Gallows Point. What are the lower harbor view units like? Are the upper units worth the extra cost? Report as inappropriate |

We've stayed only in upper units both harbor and ocean side. I'd pay the extra money just to be able to have the huge window/doors wide open at night and not worry about being exposed on ground level. St. John is safe, but as with anyplace, things can happen. I think I'd sleep better with windows wide open one story up ANYPLACE I might stay anywhere. Consider also that there will be some noise on the harbor side with the ferries and the comings and goings of other boats. I love the harbor side's activities; fun to watch. Others might prefer the quieter side of Gallows- the ocean side. Regardless, you'll have tons of fun. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

I am planning my next vacation to St John and plan on booking an upper harbor view at Gallows. I agree with tetheredin colorado 100%. We also like having our windows open at night and love having our own balcony for the view and the privacy. For the most part, we try to have a balcony where ever we stay.
