I was given a "heads-up" yesterday about hitchhikers on St. John. I was told not to be surprised by people jumping on the back of our vehicle and riding to the tops of the hills. He said they do it without asking, just jump on the rear bumper and hanging on to the luggage rack....This warning was given by someone who had traveled to St. John on their honeymoon. Was he pulling my leg, was it an isolated incident, or is this the norm? I don't mind if they do it, but it would have been quite a shock if I didn't know about it!!!
