We just came back from a week of vacation split between St Thomas and St John. St Thomas was nice, beaches and views very nice but if you have to go anywhere near Charlotte Amalie, beware..no parking, lots of traffic, not worth the hassle. St John, however, is a return must for us. Everything was great and I've been to many spots inthe Caribbean. The food, restaurants, locals, facilities, beaches, sights, on and on couldn't be better. And there is no commercialism..No McDonalds, no Burger King, etc etc. Very laid back and refreshing. The ferries that run between St Thomas and St John are efficient. Next time we stay on St John for the week and ferry back and forth to St Thomas as need be. Red Hook where the ferry is has several good bars and restaurants like Molly Malones and Duffy's Love Shack.
