Gallows Point is made up of individually owned condos. Suite St. John is a group who handles several units, while Gallows Pointe (main website) handles the rest of the units. I just had my wedding there and it was incredible. All my guests (34) stayed at Gallows and booked through the main website www.gallowspointresort.com. It's the one that plays music. Talk to Tom the manager.

I also am looking to stay at either Gallows Point or Lavender Hill the week or so after Thanksgiving 05. Know this is a long time away, but was wondering if anyone knows how far in advance these places might need to be booked at the end of low season? We may not have the luxury of booking well in advance because a family member is ill. Thanks for any info.

GallowsPointResort.com is by far the best choice. They have 50 rooms to choose from rather than 10. In some room types, Suite St. John has only 1 room ... you're stuck with their schedule! Gallows Point Resort is far more flexible on dates, since Suite St. John tries to rent only for whole weeks that start on THEIR schedule. And Gallows Point Resort takes credit cards, rather than requiring you to mail a check for your entire vacation to some guy in Maryland long before you arrive. Gallows Point Resort is owned by the condo owners themselves and they pride themselves on maintaining the resort and the units at the highest level. This is a no brainer. There's really no comparison. I've tried both and highly recommend GallowsPointResort.com.

I booked through gallowspointresort.com and had no problem, great unit, well equipped, better than it looked in the pictures. Friends have stayed at Gallows by booking through Suite St. John and also had a good experience, so from my limited experience it seems they are equal if both have the availability of the type of room you're looking for on your dates. Since Suite St. John is a smaller group of owners (there is one guy in Gaithersburg MD who the checks go to, not sure if he has other partners), they might be more willing to offer last minute discounts or other deals. I would try both and go with whichever one has the availability you need.
