To put a spin on the top things you WOULD do, what are the top things you WOULD NOT do?

Because lately I've seen some statements that things are overrated such as brunch at Lucy's, and Trunk Bay Snorkel trail.

What are yours?

I "WOULD NOT"...........forget to say good morning,afternoon,evening.

Complain about prices.

Step on coral.

Leave trash on the beaches.

Drive like a local.

Go to trunk bay between 9 to 5.

Walk around town with drink in hand.

Forget sunblock,sunglasses and a hat.

Leave water running.

Stiff the waiter/bartender....(unless they deserve it)

Miss the full moon rise at Ram's Head.

Wear a thong at the beach.

Go to STT for the day.

Sit by the pool and not explore the dozens of beaches.

Take a taxi when you can walk or hike or take the bus.

Worry things aren't "on time".

And there's another 100 more would nots...........

I disagree on not going to STT for the day. It's easy to take the car barge over and go to some great and beautiful beaches for the day.

Also alot of good restaurants over there.

I think alot of people who go to STJ, land at the airport, drive through Charlotte Amalie and then get right on the ferry without experiencing some of what STT has to offer.

agree with larry!!! :)

Didnt end up going to Lucy's, but I did check out the Trunk Bay snorkel trail out of curiosity.

If you've never snorkeled before...it's kinda cool.

I've snorkeled a lot..been to the Great Barrier Reef...so it didn't "wow" me...but again...if you've never snorkeled before it's worth it in my opinion.

I would not waste one minute of vacation worrying if I was doing the best thing/the must do/the must see/ or the must eat.I would not be emailing while on vacation unless it was an absolute emergency.

I would try and breath in the beauty.Live in the present and not worry about missing something. The over planning and constant running to the next great activity leaves a frantic check list of done that/been there.

I would just be...and wish all my friends on stj...good Morning,Good Afternoon and Good Evening.Relax and enjoy.

I would not take my cell phone, think about work, worry about stuff at home, or plan many activities.

Go to one of the many beautiful beaches, without a cell phone, i-pod, radio, etc., and watch the day unfold. If lucky you'll watch a pelican catch a meal 10 feet in front of you.

STJ is one of the few places (and maybe the only place where I have been) where there is nothing you shouldn't experience -- I am not advocating doing something illegal or immoral or anything like that -- I am referring to all the opportunities to experience this beautiful place. (And I heartily agree with the poster who urged good manners and good taste in what you choose to wear in town. These are a "must" no matter where you travel. )

But if you are asking what adventures you should avoid on STJ, I would have to answer that I can't think of any. Some are more exciting than others for sure, but to paraphrase a bumper sticker, a bad day on STJ is better than a good day anywhere else.
