We're trying to plan our day in St John - we're actually staying in St Thomas but want to go to Cinnamon Bay for a day. We're thinking of taking the 7:30am ferry from Red Hook to St John and then getting a cab to Cinnamon ( by the way - do you know how long of a taxi ride it will be from Red Hook to Cinnamon?) and then taking the ferry that goes back to Charlotte Amaile and doing some shopping. Also, is there any good shopping in St Thomas by where the ferry's are located?

Cinnamon bay is wonderful, so is Trunk Bay - you can actually do both the same day - you would want to do Trunk early before the crowd shows up. Shopping is a must down town St Thomas , Must stop and have a drink at the 19th hole on main street , Gene and Harritte are the greatest and make the best Bushwacker on the Island. Shopping on St John has some neat unique shops / and make a pit stop at Mongoose junction as well .

Red Hook -- ferry to Cruz bay approx 20 - 30 min , taxi to Cinnamon bay - approx 10 min .

Where are you staying ?

we're staying at the Wyndham where we have seen very negative reviews on this board - we had friends that stayed there a couple of years ago and loved it so who knows.
