Christmas in St Thomas

We are a family of three travelling to St Thomas between the 19th & the 26th of December. Our party includes a four-year-old girl. Since we will be there over Christmas, I was wondering if Santa makes an appearance anywhere in St Thomas or St. John, either in a mall or a special event? On a similar note, are there any special kid-oriented Christmas events, such as parades or concerts, going on during that time? I could not seem to find anything through my internet search.

Thanks!

AFAIK Santa comes around St Nick's Day, which is today, and appears at Haven Sight Mall for the tree lighting sometime this week/weekend.

On Christmas morning you can get up VERY early and go to Emancipation Garden in town where groups of carolers get together to welcome the dawn in a rousing concert - it's quite an awesome experience and a lot of fun!. Check the Virgin Islands Daily News (you can access it on line too) for Christmas events. The free weekly advertising newspaper, "Island Trader" comes out every Thursday and can be found at most grocery stores and supermarkets and promotes local events; and you can find "St Thomas This Week" at the airport and in various outlets around the island for information too. Tutu Park Mall on the East end usually has things going on. Main Street and the waterfront are decorated for the holidays, as is the Havensight Mall plus, of course, there are church services in all denominations. Have fun!

The caroling starts at 6 a.m., no? Nice way to welcome back the return of the light.
