st croix, east end

Hi, first time doing this and first time going to St. Croix with my family last week in July 2013. We are staying at a house in Paradise Found on the East End. Has anyone ever been there, and anything within walking distance to it. Thanks for the help

Trey,

There are at least 3 villas called "Paradise Found" on the east end. There's one on the south shore of the east end, near the Divi resort; one waterfront right across the road from BlueWater Terrace Restaurant near Sierra Verde Road and the last one is in Shoys (I think), Which one is yours?

according to the map , it looks like we are above the south shore. If I go south on map I would turn left to Grapetree Beach and would go right for Divi Carina Resort

Welcome to TA, treybcakes! I would highly recommend just taking a browse through many of the topics on the board here to get great information about beaches, snorkeling, Buck Island, restaurants, tours, etc.

It looks like you've found a nice place in Paradise Found. As their website says, they are within walking distance of the Divi resort with a couple of restaurants, a mini-golf spot and the island's only casino. In the other direction, you can hike/walk to Jack and Isaac's Bay among the most beautiful beaches on St. Croix. But beyond those two things, you will have to drive. Hope you plan to have a rental car so that you can enjoy seeing the island.

Have fun!

Don't forget to post a first timer trip report when you return. Looking forward to it since we have reserved Paradise Found on the South Shore by the Divi for the first two weeks in April 2014 for our third trip to STX. A car is definitely a must since there is so much you would miss without one. All the beautiful beaches and restaurants, the beer drinking pigs, rum factory, oh and did I mention all the great restaurants? The Blue Terrace (my favorite our last trip, Duggans, Chesseburgers, Tutle Deli (in Fredericksted), Rumrunners, Angry Nates. The Pastry Hut on Centerline Road has great sweets, love their coconut donuts and fresh bread. Also check when the cruise ship comes into Fredricksted, the local merchants set up tents and the town becomes very lively. The beach at the Bucaneer is really nice, uncrowded and really nice swimming, we ate lunch then hit the beach and never were charged any fee, just let the guard at the gate know that your having lunch. They also have a great Brunch for around $22 each if your really hungry. Love, love, love this island! Very authuntic feel, unlike STT (unless you love to shop especially for jewely), which then would recommend a one day trip. The seaplane is fun, leaves from Chistiansted daily. Well I must say I think I am hooked, can't wait till April. Don't waste a minute, relax and enjoy!!!

Hi, we are here in the east end near the Divi resort, but not at the resort. This is our first visit to St. Croix and are here until July 15. We will give some suggestions once we have some. We rented a car from Centerline. Economy one for about $250 for the week. Will be in touch.

Well I just came back yesterday from Paradise found. I did find Paradise!!! see www.paradisefoundstx.com

the house was fabulous. Great pool and views. First time to St. Croix and have learned much if I go again. I hope !! Food at grocery stores VERY EXPENSIVE. We found a box of Frosted Flakes for $11.97 and 1/2 gal of milk ran about $8. Take as much non perishables with you if you can. Beautiful beaches, however we were close to Divi Resort and their beach was terrible. No upkeep at all. Casino located there. Lost. My son and daughter's boyfriend snorkeled and said Isaac Bay worth the hike. Crystal clear water and much to see. Buccaneer Hotel has a fabulous beech , we went there twice. Driving on left was odd at first but got used to it pretty quickly. Mosquitos were TERRIBLE. Make sure you bring bug spray. It is so laid back and beautiful. Best vacation I ever had.
