Are there any locals selling things at the Buccaneer beaches

Just wondering if the security keeps locals away.

Thanks for replies

We have not been approached by locals selling things on the beaches in all the years we have gone. On 50% of the beaches chances are you will be the only person on the beach. At the Buccaneer once you rent your chair if you aren't staying there that is about it :) Nor will you be approached while shopping or walking down the street. The ONLY place that we have been approached is the government parking lot where they offer to wash your car ... and when you say no thanks it is the end of the discussion

St. Croix isn't your typical island :)

I've never seen vendors on any St. Croix beach. Frankly, other than hair braiding, I've never found them to be very invasive (at least Barbados or Belize).

I have never seen hair braiders on St. Croix beaches even on cruise ship days. Where have you seen them Plummeria?

Lynne, I must change the way I write, I seem to confuse more than help!

I meant I've never found vendors annoying except the hair braiders in other places I've been, such as Barbados. Not sure why they bug me so, probably because their craft takes a fair amount of time so they are visible longer.

I've never encountered any vendors of any sort on St. Croix beaches.

Last year my wife wanted to get her hai braided. She had to go to the boat launch in F'sted where people hang out to find someone to do it.
