We are celabrating our 28th anniversary staying at the Palms the week of 1/13/07 thru 1/20/07.

Wow...I can't believe that I just booked a day at the spa with my wife. I have had a massage before (in China) but never had a SPA Experince before.

I wanted to suprise her, and this deffinetly will. She would never think in a million years that I would go to a spa with her.

Actually, I have read a lot of wonderful things about the SPA at The Palms so I am very intrigued. Who knows, this may be the start of something new.

I heard how expensive it is, but you know what...it really isn't a whole lot more that a private deep see fishing day trip. My wife actually spent a day out to sea with me last January in Kona Hawaii so she will be very appreciative.

Any tips for a 1st time male spending a day at the SPA?

ajax1...thanks for the complement.

Two weeks from today and counting. I am so pumped up as this is a new island for us and we are water freaks. Dive gear is out, polished and ready to go!

This forum is very helpful, but it can also be cause for some indecision too. I had narrowed accomadations down to 4, RWI, OC, The Palms and Somerset, then it cam down to The Palms and Somerset. Finally it was The Palms.

I made the arrangements at The Palms and then had seen the comment about the "Black Gunk" which concerned me and I started to rethink about the Somerset. I had ruled it out because it was brand new (potential for a lot of service issues because of the new staff) and The Palms had 95% of waht was important.

Plamsowner helped with the explination about the coral so I'm good with my choice, and can't wait!

You made a great choice with The Palms. We have never stayed there, however, enjoyed many great drinks with dinner there and swims in the pool. (We usually stay at The Sands, they are "sister" hotels) Don't let the black stuff bother you, you will not be hanging from the side of the building. : )

Enjoy your trip and be sure to report back for us.

If you want a totally new experience get the Zareeba treatment. It isnt cheap but oh so incredible. Earl is the man at the spa if you are looking for a referral. You will have a fabulous time just relax and enjoy.

Ps if any issues arise during your trip a guy named Scott at the front desk is first class and will be sure to help.
