Any info is appreciated.. Thanks... Oh, one more question-can i drive to the good snorkeling at coral gardens? or do i have to do the 45 min. walk i hear about...? Report as inappropriate |

We stayed at Ocean Club West a couple of weeks ago so I can only speak for there, but assume Ocean Club is similar. The beach in front of both clubs is great. The pools at both are also nice. I only ate lunch at the restaurant at OCW and thought it was very good. It's not cheap, but not expensive compared to other islands. I looked at menus on their web site and although not exact, they give a good idea. Sandwhiches with fries ranged from $8.95 to around $13.95 I think. I really only looked at the dinner menu from the web site - not the one there. Food at the supermarket was more expensive than USA, but not outrageous. The cheapest place I found for alcohol was in the Salt Mills shopping center- not far from OCW. The convenience store at Ocean Club seemed to be the only place to buy alcohol (except restauants) on Sundays. If you have a car, this won't matter- but, the taxis are now metered. If they take you to the groc store and wait, the meter is running while you're in the store. It can add up quickly. There are pots and pans. We only had a studio, so the kitchenette was small - almost no counter space. But there was a good size refrigerator, a small microwave and 2 burners - plus the gas grills outside. We cooked dinner 3 nights and had everything we needed. I'm not sure about the parking at Coral Gardens or if there is somewhere close to park. We didn't have a car. They have improved a lot of the roads, but the ones near Coral Gardens are full of potholes. There is a new bus service that only covers a specific area of Grace Bay - stops at most resorts and 2 shopping areas. It was free when we were there but they were going to start charging on Jan 24th. We took that to Beaches (as far as it goes) and then walked to Coral Gardens. It was a 10-15 minute walk from where we had to get off the bus. The bus was not at all on schedule, but maybe it'll improve when it's not free. A taxi to Coral Gardens probably wouldn't be very much. We loved OCW - except for the construction noise from next door. We had stayed at Allegro last year, so it was our first non all-inclusive there. We called a couple of times about problems ( a blender that blew smoke and our safe entry system quit working) and they were very promt about fixing the problems. There were always lots of clean towels and wash cloths. The screened porches were a great bonus. Report as inappropriate

There is parking and public access to the beach at Coral Gardens - you can park right next to the hotel and walk in to the beach. Report as inappropriate
