Does anyone know if there has been any damage to Turks & Caicos from the recent hurricane?

Providenciales did not have any serious damage, other than little landscaping problems.

power was back at 3.00 pm after Frances and never went off during Jeanne

life is back to normal and it is hard to believe that there ahs been a hurricane in the area

My mother in law lives in the Chalk Sound area and power lines were down all over with some flooding in the area. The North dock pier is gone also. About all she knew.

Just got off the phone with Beaches Resort, T&C, I spoke with (CSR) Louisem she stated the resort is closing unit 26 Sept. 2008. They will be doing inspections for structural damage. We are wating with bated breath, she is supposed to call back with options, we will keep you posted .....

seminole59:

Hmm, wonder if this will delay the opening of the Italian Village that is currently being constructed... It states on their website but it is due to open on 1/20/09 but maybe not anymore. We're scheduled to stay in the Italian Village next June so I imagine everything will be up and running by then. Keep us informed on any damage at Beaches, OK?

We're scheduled to stay here this October. Does anyone know what Beaches will likley do. Should we reschedule or cancel. Will they offer discounts. I assume the resoty will be under construction and perhaps the beaches will be washed away for some time.

I was originally scheduled to be there from 09/20 through 09/27, but Beaches canceled that reservation due to damage from Hanna. After $1,500 in flight charges, I rescheduled and am going there from 10/03 through 10/10. Anyone know anything about the current status after Hurricane Ike? Anyone going there during my time period?

I am getting married and doing my homeymoon at Beaches TCI in April 2009! I am so terrified that the resort and island was ruined by Hurriane Hanna and Ike. I have contacted my travel agent who has a contact at the resort to find out. If I hear anything I will comment, please do the same!!
