is there a taxi stand after immigration? Do the taxis have meters or fixed rate? Is this a bargaining situation? If meter I assume one tips then? Just basic info on about how much it costs etc. would be very helpful...thank you in advance for your help.

when you come out of the airport there will be taxi's and resort shuttles all around...someone will ask you where you are going and since sibonne doesn't have a resort shuttle i'm thinking they'll direct you towards an available taxi...we stayed at the allegro one year and that's how it worked for us...very easy to find a taxi once outside the airport doors...

it should cost you about $20 from the airport to sibonne...maybe a little less...

i'm not sure about meters...can't say i ever noticed them in the taxi's before...wasn't looking for them either...

we always tip...

justlaura is just about correct.

I did actually have coffee with Mr Shell this morning and his cost from the airport to Sibonne / Somerset etc is $20 for one or two passengers then extra for additional people (he didn't say how much).

It seems taxi's don't have meters just a ixed cost to various places.

When you leave the customs hall you cannot miss the taxis parked in the carpark opposite. Generally speaking the taxi drivers sit in the Beaches place to the left.

Sibonne is not the only hotel not to have airport pick-up as none of them do. The government recently stopped the airport pick-ups following complaints from the taxi drivers. However when you return to the airport the hotels are allowed to drop off.

if i understand correctly those resorts that used to offer a "shuttle" for airport pickup now just use taxi's (prepaid by the resort) as the "shuttle"...

we've always had tina's taxi's as ocean clubs resort shuttle from the airport...this will still be the case when we arrive in april correct?

the resort says we will be picked up at the airport and returned to the airport...it is a taxi, however it's pre-paid by the resort and the only thing we need to do is tip the driver...

i just don't want future visitors to think the once included transfers to their resorts is not available...it's taxi's indeed...just not a taxi you have alone or that you have to pay for (more than a tip)...

am i wrong? will i need to get my own taxi upon arrival in april?
