interesting - pity there is no mention as to how he cleared out the local mustiquians - and their homes - in the process.

With all due respect, speaking ill of the deat is uncalled for.

The island is, and was a private island that Lord Glenconner bought the title to. He bought the entire island from its legal owners and had the right to do with it as he pleased.

SVG would not be what it is today without Colin Tennant. Mustique is the largest private employer in the entire country by a long shot; and as Saltfish has said on here, Mustique has the best health care and education for St Vincentians.

Lastly as you all get on the Otters for your trips to the Grenadines you can also thank the Mustique Company who bought those planes to ensure safe and relieable air travel to the islands.

The various islands offer an interesting contrast in development strategy.

Bequia, lots of small individual land holders.

Mustique, planned and managed for privacy and the wealthy

Canouan, mega resort which overshadows the whole island

Palm, one resort for the whole island

Union, hodge podge development a bit behind the curve.

Mayreau, too samll and hilly for the Palm//PSV model.

Seems like each island gives any person what they might desire. Just because I like one does not mean it is the best. What is less apparent is which of these models is best for the people who happen to make their homes on these islands.?
