help needed with planning a holiday

Hello

Im planning on a trip to the Caribbean in January and i am looking for some recommendations for a pretty island, a boutique hotel on a quiet beach for around £100 per night where there a lot of daytime activities such as snorkelling boat and day trips

kind regards

You posted this on the Mustique board and I gotta tell you there is nothing in your price range on that island. $600US a night is probably the bottom rung right now.

You'll find lots to consider, however, in Grenada, Barbados, the Grenadines (e.g. Bequia) and these would all meet your criteria.

I have a home on Bequia, and you could get your own Villa for that money. Getting there can be a bit of a hassle, however its worth it in the end. Safe, not a lot of tourists, friendly people. Look for Russ Filmon's website for lots of information on the island if you're interested :)

You can also try other islands in the Grenadines like Canouan, PSV, or book a captained charter through all of the islands. It all depends what you are looking for...

Jilly

We stayed at the Village Apartments on Bequia in July and can recommend them. Rates for a one bedroomed apartment is about 46 pounds per night for the time you're going. They have a kitchen and air-conditioning. Val and George are very friendly and will do what they can to make your stay enjoyable. About a 5 minute walk to Belmont beach and Bequia Dive for dive activities. Friendship Rose (a scooner) do shared charters to Mustique, Tobago Cays and St Vincent. Best beach is Princess Margaret Beach (very quiet, no facilities take your own refreshments). Lower Bay is nice with De Reef for beers and snacks.

Alternatively if you wanted a hotel you could use the Gingerbread Hotel (again Belmont walkway) for about for about 105 pounds per night (per room) or the Frangipani Hotel (near the Gingerbread) for their special deal of 32 pounds per room per night (6 nights for 7).
