I have stayed at the Tamarind for the last 2 years during Christmas to New Years. There are no other places to eat. In order to eat at Raffles you must make reservations ahead of time, but from what I heard, the food is no better there. Food at the Tamarind is average at best. There are 2 choices for dinner specials but you can get pasta or pizza every night. Unless you intend to eat all courses of all meals, don't bother getting the FAM plan. It ends up cheaper to pay as you go. If you have any questions regarding the Tamarind, please feel free to e-mail me isram@ix.netcom.com.

There used to be a few bars serving decent local food - Annies, Honeycrome and R&C. Don't know if theya re still there. I really hate what Raffles and Tamarind have done to what used to be a perfect getaway Caribbean island. The locals aren't too happy either.
i stayed about 6 years ago. Their use to be a free shuttle between that and Raffles (Carenage back then) I bet they got rid of that when raffles took over. The staff was excellent, and the day trips to the cays were excellent. It was a very quiet island, with no real restaurants at hand. They was also no airconditioning in the rooms. i thought the beaches on Canouan were just okay. The beaches in Tobago Cays and Palm Island were excellent. It was easy taking day drips to all the different cays.
