The Grenadines is not your typical "hotel and Beach" vacation. It is more adventurous. I have been to SVG 4 times now over the last decade and could tell you really anything you need to know, but I think it is generally more for people who want a more natural, tropical vacation. Absolutely great sailing (some of the best in the world). If you have lots of disposable cash you may want to look at the island of mustique. There is a large resort on Canuon (sp?), but it is not looked upon favorably by the locals.

SVG is one of the prettiest and adventurous places on earth. I highly recommend it, but may be a challenge with small children.
