 Travelling to Palm Island

We are considering booking through Virgin Holidays to go to Palm Island.

As we would have to change planes in Barbados, do we have to collect our luggage there & then check it in again for the flight to Union Island, or does it go there automatically for us to collect before the boat transfer?

Also, would we have to go through customs in Barbados, or not until Union Island?

Finally, are their any weight restrictions for luggage onthe flight to Union island - I travel light, but know a man who does not!!

Assuming you are travelling Grenadines Alliance (SVG Air/Air Mustique), you would be able to use the GAL in-transit service.

Airline staff will meet you in the arrivals hall, collect your luggage, and take you to the departures lounge to await your flight Union. You would not have to go through Barbados customs or immigration. You would pick up your luggage in Union and clear Vincentian customs and immigration there.

There are weight restrictions - I think its 22kg and they charge $1US a lb for overweight. Double check this info on the SVG Air website, however, as I may be a bit out of date on this (never having been over the limit and relying on info from those who have !)

Hello curiousx

We will be flying with Virgin Atlantic to Barbados, but I have no idea who we will then be flying with to Union Island!!

I was dreading the thought of having to go through customs in Barbados as well as Union Island so that is a relief.
