Which Part of Seven Mile Beach So. Or No.

After being overrun with cruise ship people on our beach in St Thomas we are concerned about which area of the beach to stay on. We like convience and peace is that to much to wish for at Xmas time?

Central to Northern parts of Seven Mile Beach better choice than Southern area.

Quieter, bigger beach area, few cruise ship day trippers. Central more convenient to shopping, restaurants, etc. than Northern. Will you be renting a condo or staying in a hotel?

The Westin is a nice beach, and they don't allow cruise shippers on their beach. It is central to the shops, food, and grocery stores. The Marrioott is nice, not much of a beach though, th epool is nice and right on the sea edge.

Enjoy the trip

Newsman has good info - the further away from the Georgetown Cruise terminal the better so head for the westin and north from their. Remember, hotels do not own all the beach in front of their premises - the last 12 yards to the sea is public

There are many nice beachfront condos with pools in the central and northern parts of Seven Mile Beach. Caymanvacations.com has listings that show pictures and gives features for many of the nicest ones.

We have stayed at Lacovia the last 3 times and really liked it. We had a 3 bedroom ground floor that opened onto the beach. The property has a nice pool and is an easy locations for walking to some good resturants. The grocery store is close by. It is just up from the Hyatt where you can get water sports and there is a placenext door where you can rent jet skiis etc. When people from the cruise ships come, they can be on the beach. However most pay to be delivered to a specific location (I guess with food, drinks and chairs thrown in -- not sure don't do cruises). However at both Lacovia and Hyatt, people are very politely asked if they are guests and if not told they cannot use the chairs, towels etc. (I guess they can sit or stand). Also the cruise ships do not stay overnight, so they are not around long.

We were in St. Thomas about 10 years ago and I was horrified as hordes of bustling people overtook the island. One woman crashed into my daughter who was about five and walking along holding my hand! Never again. Good luck!
