For a great reasonably priced restaurant...Sunshine Grill at Sunshine Suites is the best on island. It's not really a pub - but if you're looking for good options for lunch / dinner that won't break the bank...definitely Sunshine Suites.
For a better bar setting that still has decent food:
Lonestar - I agree is great, and offers both inside/outside options..and tv's on the outside deck if you want to watch a game.
Royal Palms - a great beach side restaurant/bar (perfect for sunset time)...and if you just stick to the casual menu, it's reasonable.
Your 20'something boys will probably want to know that Aqua Beach is a popular bar (Friday nights especially), Triple Crown is next door, and Royal Palms - Wednesday night they have a DJ.
