how much should I expect to pay for a taxi to 7 mile beach?

Hi - How much should I expect to pay for a taxi to the public beach area on seven mile beach from the cruise ship terminal? Are taxi's readily available? What about return trips, are there usually taxi's to be found or is there a bus, etc... that would be better? Thanks in advance!!!

I have never done the a taxi from the cruise ship terminal to one of the public beaches. However I have caught a taxi to go up and down to SMB (in and out of town). If you are there when the traffic is bad it might be hard to get a taxi. Even if you arrange for them to return to get you, if they can't get there you are stuck. Having said that they are very friendly and fair, but they cannot control traffic jams on the main drag. I certainly don't mean to put you off, what I saw 'round the clock in St. Thomas was much worse!!! Good luck!

I'm not sure of the fee - should be about 10-15 US. However, on cruise ship days, they have buses that take people to the beach- however, it the crowded beach areas. You might want to strike out on your own - Governors Beach or the public beach area would be less crowded. GB has no facilities however. Getting a taxi back is never a problem - they are always on hand waiting for the tourists to return to the ship. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time - traffic along 7MB Road can be bad and a 10 minute trip can take 30-45 minutes depending on the time you are traveling. Enjoy.
