Looking for some suggestions!

We are planning on taking a snorkel trip off of Tortola & would like some opinions about which order you would rate:

The Dogs

The Indians

Norman Island

We think we have it narrowed down to a trip to The Dogs with Patouche or a trip to The Indians with Kuralu.

Would love any & all suggestions!

FYI - we will be there 2/28/07 - 3/4/07.

Thank you

Hi, Sue -

Glad you worked out your trip to The Indians. You will enjoy it. The underwater scenery is spectacular.

Norman Island is interesting because you can swim/snorkel in and out of the caves. You can also feed large schools of colorful little fish with stale bread. (The fish love it.)

Willie T's is a famous place to stop for lunch or drinks. It is a boat that is permanently moored off Norman. In days past, it was famous for some very un-New England-like behavior: People could win tee shirts by jumping off the top deck in varying degrees of undress and inebriation. I think they have curbed some of that now, but Willie T's is still a landmark (or seamark).

The area around The Caves and Norman will be crowded with boaters and snorkelers. Also, Norman Island itself is just starting to be developed. Sites are available for construction of luxury homes. It may be that development has brought new dining opportunities, etc.

For some reason I cannot remember ever snorkeling at The Dogs, and I have no idea what is there other than the formation itself. Hopefully someone else will respond.

After your trip to Tortola, please post a report. We arrive down there on March 10. It would be great to know what you found.

- Christie

All are great snorkelling, but IMHO the Caves at Norman are the best....Indians are second and the Dogs are more appropriate for SCUBA.
