I have read lots of great reviews about the Alamanda Hotel, although we have never stayed there. I think it will be the place we stay at next time. Enjoy.

I am considering this area also for a vacation and have never been to St. Martin. The Alamanda Hotel and L'Hoste Hotel look quite similar. Where are they located on the beach (which I understand is quite long)? Which is closer to the restaurants? Do they both provide parking? Which has the larger pool and are they heated? Is the area around them newly developed (there is supposed to be a "village" nearby) or older and well-maintained? Does anyone else have recommendations on hotels in this area? Thanks.

I stayed at Le St. Tropez des Caraibes 3 years ago and would recommend that. It is a moderate property as far as price and accommodation is concerned, but the room very clean, the staff is very friendly, and I would stay there again if I go back. It's right on Orient Beach and centrally located. Loved it!!
