1/2 Day Fishing Trip?

Can anyone recommend a person to call for a 1/2 day fishing trip out of the Soufriere area? We are looking for an experienced captain who loves to fish with all equipment needed... We have only been able to get recommendations on Castries, not Soufriere. We'd like to deal direct with the captain, not a hotel person. We're in St. Lucia now so any quick help appreciated! BTW, St. Lucia is AMAZING -- have been here before but not for extended period. Weather is perfect, people are lovely, food delicious, views incredible. So glad to be here. Thanks for the help!

Try Exodus. They're out of Castries, but they might be able to help you out or at least set you up with someone else in that area. Here's a link.

Exodus had nice looking boats that came into the Jalousie Pier - much less crowded than the Joe Knows' boats. Another place to try is Ben's Concierge - www.bensconcierge.lc/index.php… - they're based in Soufriere so may be able to help.

Out of Soufriere, right on the waterfront, definitely, definitely check Mystic Man. They offer half day and full day trips, have several different fshing boats to choose from, experienced captains - and we've always caught when we've gone with them! They will pack the cooler, etc.

Absolutely correct, reedprincess, once again... We went with Mystic Man, much less expensive than AC resort (who also uses them as their vendor but charges a double upcharge) and they were wonderful. Know what you're getting into, though, before you go. They go about 9 miles out from AC to a government-sponsored fishing reef, but they go slow (9 knots) and the diesel fumes are very strong and hard to take. Then they troll around, still at 9 knots, and the fishing rods are lodged in holders, not in your hands. We didn't catch anything -- I got VERY seasick from the fumes and the swell motion and drone of the engine, but Errol and Charlie were incredibly kind and called a speedboat to meet us and mercifully take me back to shore, then they continued on with inshore fishing with the rest. My husband said it was a shame I had to leave since there was no motion inshore and the views around the Pitons were beautiful. Still didn't catch a thing, but that wasn't for lack of Errol and Charlie's trying! Great recommendation, and I suggest anyone in Soufriere area use Mystic Man for any of their boat needs.

Bon jou tou moun,

That's true, most deep-sea fishing tours (Exodus, Joe Knows, Mystic Man...) head to the Fishing Aggregate Device (FAD) floating just outside of Choiseul for an hour or so, then head into Anse l'Ivrogne (Sevoigne) to fish along the coast.

Sevoigne, located at the SW foot of the Gros Piton, is a very deep bay with abundant sea life on the Marine Reserve reefs.

We live here and offer fishing tours - the local's way - on a pirogue or from the beach with hook & line, nets, fish pots... AND you do the fishing!

Then we clean & cook your catch for lunch the Carib way... on the beach over hot coals!

Bless up! Paul
