Walking near Sandals Halcyon

We are going to be staying at the Sandals Halcyon. I know their beach is small, so walking the beach is probably not going to cut it. We are used to walking 4 miles a day, which we would still like to do. Can you walk on the streets around the Halcyon? Is it safe? Is there anything decent to walk to?

Thanks

Mike

You can walk a decent ways on the beach, but definitely not miles!

Outside the resort, you can walk along the highway towards the south all the way to the city, if you want. Not the most scenic walk, by any means, but long and flat, and their are sidewalks along the highway (narrow sidewalks and they are right on top of the highway, so walk single file). Or take the shuttle to the Grande and walk their beach - good long stretch.

Good luck!

As Reedprincess says you can indeed walk the highway into Castries. However it's not what I would call ideal as the road is very busy and fast moving and you would have to walk single file and the traffic fumes are not terribly pleasant. if you take the free shuttle to the Grand you can not only walk the beach, if you carry a little further on about 5 minutes further you can go to Pidgeon Island and walk up to Fort Rodney which is a very pleasant morning or indeed afternoons walking excursion.

Enjoy.
