 Anse Chastanet Beachside Rooms

Hi. I'm heading to St. Lucia next summer, and I was wondering if anyone had stayed at the Beachside Rooms at Anse Chastenet. We like the idea of having access to the room all day from the beach, but are a little worried that it might be hotter down there without the breezes. Also, are we making a big mistake by passing up on the view from the hillside?

Thanks!

Yes!

The beach side rooms are on the beach but are screened so that they do not have a direct seaview.

The other thing to remember is that the beach is public.

The views from the hillside rooms are fantastic and well worth the climb up the steps. They also benefit from the sea breeze. They are also in the trees so the sound of the wildlife at night is incredible.

Just got back from Anse Chasntanet this weekend. Spent 2 nights Beachside room 11C - and 2 nights at Jade Mountain JC1 (sunsuite)- This was great as we were able to split the time between rooms - The beach room was very spacious and rustic and romantic and beautiful. The lanai area had a hammock and a sitting area and lounge chairs - The room had a 4 post King with netting the Bathroom and shower was large- It was located far back into the gardens - Beautiful- The best part was you did not have to climb the stairs to the central reception/restaurants or up the hillside from the beach. During they day, we found that once you got down to the beach you wanted to stay there. Staying on the beach you could easily go back and forth to your room during the day for drinks, etc. Very close to the beach bar also - which we like - It is fun to meet people and hang out there. As for staying up at the Jade for the 2 nights - I can still not believe the room and the view. I'm sure it was the most beautiful place I will ever stay in my lifetime - And I have been to many islands and stayed at a number of high end hotel suites. This blows them all away - The views, the pool, the sheer size of the suite and the fact that it was open with a 270 degree open wall was amazing. When it is finished (still doing construction and reception area/guest services are not up to par- If you are paying those rates - you want to 100% service)

So - if you want to split your time between beach and hillside rooms they will accomodate - Another couple we met booked ROH and got a 2nd floor beach room (which was not as nice as 11C ground floor) but they got upgraded to JB1 at Jade after a few inquires- This was a huge bonus for them - They actually got engaged after hiking to the top of the Pitons this past Monday!
