St. Lucia Forum: Which villa to stay at for 10 people?

Which villa to stay at for 10 people?

Special event is my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. I have found several villas that will accommodate 10 people: Brigand Hill, Villa Capri, Villa Giorgia, Villa La Paloma, and Firefly. Seems like it might be a lot cheaper than staying at say a Sandals all inclusive, yet have a lot of privacy. Has anyone stayed at any of these villas? If so, what was your experience like & would you recommend it?

Some add'l questions I have are: I've noticed many say they have a cook, but then go on to mention a grocery stop or something...is food provided or do you have to buy it and they cook it? Liquor? What about beach access? Are any of these fairly close to the beach? Do you recommend car rental versus a private driver or taxi when staying at a villa?

Thanks!

Noone has any thoughts on this? Why? Does everyone just stay at all inclusives? One big reason we thought of staying at a villa was the cost. Sandals Regency was $4500 per couple for ocean view, whereas the La Paloma is about $4500 for all 10 of us....and there is a maid and a cook. We do have to fend for ourselves on the weekend, but I thought it would be fun to try out a local restaurant or 2...or maybe grill ourselves. Anyone that knows anything about these villas I'd sure appreciate your comments.

Destination Expert   What's this?
for St. Lucia

The villa option is a fantastic way to go with a family, as you say the cost can't be beaten and it gives you a lot of freedom.

Regarding the villas that you mention, Brigand Hill is lovely but its down near Anse la Rey so activities are a bit limited.

Villa Capri is great, a real home away from home and is in Cap Estate at the north of the island, about 5mins away from Rodney Bay.

Firefly is also in Cap Estate and is another gorgeous villa.

Villa Paloma is at Vigie and is fantastic the cook and maid are lovely as are the owners.

If you do rent a villa seriously consider getting a car as well unless you just plan to stay by the pool everyday. There is a lot to see and do here

Please check out Villa Zandoli. I'm not sure if it would accommodate 10, but it IS more than one building and it might. Close to everything. :)

We have booked Dene Court villa, near Sandy Lane for 10 people later this month. When are you travelling? Happy to let you know what it was like when we get back. It is listed on most of the websites so if you google it you should see the one I mean.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. My parents have become really interested in Villa La Paloma, and the contact person "Valerie Phillips" (not sure if she's an owner or just a manager) has indicated the Villa is being sold. New Owners to send contract and will uphold any reservations. Anyone know anything about this? Will they have same cook/maid?

Visiting St. Lucia is an experience, with beautiful clear blue waters and incredible beaches - this island is truly a paradise.

I was welcomed with smiles and openness. The feeling was relaxed but friendly. We had so many plans, but then we fell under the spell of Villa Giorgia.

We reached the villa, and were greeted by the housekeeper Francesca - who had a big smile. As it turned out, nothing was too much trouble for her. You must try Francesca's rum punch, it is amazing!

The villa was something else. It was truly elegant, with simple clean lines throughout and simply white washed walls that allowed the beauty of the gardens with its bougainvilleas to shine.

The Spell of Villa Giorgia

The large pool and splash pools both were in their elements when the lights were on at night. It was all surrounded by well maintained grounds. Do look out for the humming birds.

Everything we needed was available here - so much, that it was very difficult to make the decision to go out, or simply just to relax and stay poolside!

The whole villa team was there to help and guide us, which we found great.

In addition, the villa was ideally situated if you do wish to explore.

To us, Villa Giorgia and St. Lucia meant the same things: Outstandingly beautiful, tranquil, and serene. It was, quite simply, somewhere to go and find yourself smiling and relaxing while enjoying a little bit of paradise on earth.
