Cottage at Ti Kaye |
|
Hello all! Thanks again to everyone who has given us advice for our honeymoon! We ended up booking an oceanview cottage (without plunge) at Ti Kaye--it was pretty much all they had left for October! I told them we didn't want cottage K, as a request, as I noticed on this forum it has a partially obstructed view. I know getting oceanview (we did put in a request for an upgrade, though) we might not get the BEST view, but I was wondering if anyone had any oceanview cottages they stayed in that had good views, so I can put in a request for it. Thanks in advance for your help! We just can't wait! Especially since Cincinnati is supposed to get a snow storm tonight--yuck! Sarah Report as inappropriate |

Sarah, Hello from Cincinnati (I too am dreading the predicted snow and dreaming of tropical St. Lucia) We are staying at Ti Kaye 9/30 to 10/5 (and then heading down to Stonefield for a few days). I booked a week and got the last oceanfront cottage with plunge pool. I couldn't believe how quickly rooms at Ti Kaye fill up - hopefully that is a good sign! We are going for our anniversary and I think I researched every resort I could find in St. Lucia before deciding on Ti Kaye and Stonefield. I really think you will enjoy your honeymoon there - and maybe we will run into you if you are there the first week of October. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! Wow--We are there October 2-9th! We should meet up for a drink! Stay in touch! I did a lot of research too and decided on Ti Kaye since everyone seemed to LOVE it and it would be perfect for our honeymoon! Sarah Report as inappropriate

It sounds like the staff gets to know the guests fairly well. They should be able to point us out to each other and I am sure with the limited number of guests, you get to meet just about everyone (or anyone that is willing). We are looking forward to it. We'll see you there - happy and relaxed after a wonderful wedding! Liz Report as inappropriate

Hi Sarah. We just got back from 2 wks in SL, the last at TiKaye. can't say enough wonderful about our stay. Most guests seemed to be on honeymoon, we celebrated our 30th there. Stayed in PP, an ocean view, which was the highest tier. We had the chance to upgrade, but found that our view was less obsturcted than the suite a level below and that privacy was much better for open windows, so stayed where we were. The food was so good, that we didn't mind the extra flight of steps! A bit of construction going on behind us, but we were rarely in our room during the work day so it didn't matter much. Felt a bit like being in a tree house and would stay there again. I'm sure that there are cottages that are just as good, if not better, but we were very pleased. Have a wonderful time and be on the lookout for Theresa, Merlinda and George, our favorite TiKaye employees. Jamie Report as inappropriate

Sarah Michelle, I don't think there is a bad room at Ti Kaye. We stayed on the upper tier in JJ and it felt really remote, we had a great view. This was in one of the Duplexes but honestly we didn't even know anyone was on the other side. You will love it! It is such a romantic and relaxing place. Luv2Cruz, I am sure we will see you there! I am looking forward it! Thanks to everyone for your help. It sounds like just about every cottage has a great view! Again, we might not even have a choice, so this might be a mute point! But, I don't think I will have to worry! And thanks for giving me an update on your recent trip there! You said the food was very good--did you do a meal plan? Does it seem worth it? Thanks again everyone! Sarah Report as inappropriate

I've never read anything about cottage K, but my cottage F had a 70% obstructed view when I was there a year ago. It could be better though if they cleared one or two trees directly in front of the cottage. Report as inappropriate

Sarah, We were there a couple weeks ago. We were in "L" which next to "K". Ours was set up a little higher on the hill. We had a great view looking out. The only obstruction was a tree (in front of another cottage)that was in the way of the sunset. We just went to the restaurant to view the sunset. No plunge pool if you are looking for one. Congratulations! We are off to Hawaii for our son's wedding next week. Report as inappropriate

My nephew and his wife just returned from their honeymoon at the TiKaye. They were robbed at gunpoint in their room. They were asleep when the five men came into their room, pounced on their bed with duct tape and weapons. They were lucky to survive with bruises and cuts. The hotel staff did not arrive for over forty minutes after many frantic calls. Two other guests were assualted and robbed that night. They have been terribly traumitized. I hope that this message reaches you. Report as inappropriate

Dear Momtawd, Just read your post. I find it terribly disturbing and unsettling since we are going to Ti Kaye for our vacation on April 24/06. Are you sure you have the right resort??? This is the first posting I've seen that talks about something like this ever happening at Ti kaye. And if it is I am truly sorry that your family had to go through something like this...and I do hope they will be ok. How did the resort staff ie. management or owner respond to this situation?? Could you please reply as we only have about a week left before we leave for Ti kaye. We have been looking forward to this holiday and now after reading your post we are very concerned!!! Not that we take chances when we travel, but we were under the impression that Ti kaye had security and was very safe. Once again, I am truly sorry about your family, but any futhur information you could provide would be helpful. Elleinn Report as inappropriate
