We stayed there a while back. It was wonderful and beyond anything a had expected. The view of the petite piton is unforgettabe. The place is so private and secluded. THe villa is nicely furnished and there's a garden shower which we enjoyed very much. THere is a maid/cook and a gardener. The maid (Donna, I believe) was as sweet as could be and was a fantastic cook. Don't waste your money eating out at restaurants. Donna will accompany you to the market. Just buy what she says and she'll prepare the best local meals around for a fraction of eating out. THe gardner bought fish for us off a boat at the dock and brought it back and Donna prepared it and it was superb. THe gardener will be your personal tour guide if you want. He took us to the waterfalls and on a hike deep into the rainforest. I could go on and on. I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Cinmar, What time of year did you go? We are going in July and wondering about the rain and lack of a/c. Did you feel safe at Belle Coco? How much did you tip the cook and gardener? Did you rent a car or hire a driver? Belle Coco looks unbelievable from the pictures we have found on the web. We are so excited, yet nervous to stay outside of a resort in a place like St. Lucia (outside of the US.)

cayjen,

We stayed there in the end of June. We had good weather. It rained maybe once for a few minutes. THere is a good breeze through this villa and I don't recall being bothered by the heat. It was warm, but pleasant. The windows are open with security bars, so the breeze flows through. As for feeling safe, we felt fine. We never had any problems. The villa locks up entirely at night with cast iron fence type doors. The gardener slept in a little hut at the end of the driveway some of the nights, but we didn't even know he was there. It's not his real residence, but I couldn't figure out what the deal was there. He does serve as a security measure in addition to maintaining the villa. Both he and the maid were found to be trustworthy. As for tipping, that would depend on how many people will be staying there and how many meals will be cooked and served to you. We had just the two of us and ate at least two meals there each day. We cooked our own breakfast and left the dishes and the maid/cook made lunch and dinner normally. I think we went out for dinner twice. She ( if its Donna ) was a great cook and very pleasant. She took us to town twice for some groceries. I think we gave her 100 and the gardner 50. He took us to the rain forest and got fish fresh off the boat for us one night. We rented a jeep. I would recommend a rental as there is a lot to see. Taxi's are expensive for even a short trip. You'll also want to go to the beach at Jalouise which isn't too far but not walkable. If you go to Jalouise, there is a parking lot and you'll have to take the hotel shuttle down a long hill to the beach. Tell the guard at the parking lot that your there for lunch at the restaurant, otherwise he'll try to hit you up for a day pass. Also, there is a bakery in town called "purity bakery" that I still dream about. Pastries and coconut cake like you've never had for pennies. TAKE BUG SPRAY. We had a dream vacation there. No need for concern. Have a great time.!
