A few questions about the sandals halcyon |
|
Hiya, My girlfriend and I are going to the sandals halcyon on the 5th November and I have a few questions that I would be very grateful if someone could help me with. Does anyone know if bottled water is available under the all inclusive banner? Does anyone know if there is a bank nearby and the best way to get there and last but not least. What is the weather like around this time of year? Sorry I know these questions are a bit rubbish but I would really appreciate any help or advice that you guys can offer. Thanks ever so much. Im not sure to be honest. I have never stayed at a Sandals yet,but have been considering it. My stays at other "all inclusive's", are bottled water has NOT been one of the inclusives. Report as inappropriate

Regarding the water...check the hotel web page but I dont think its free. There is a bank and an ATM within 5mins walking distance at Gablewoods Mall and the weather should be OK. I keep rain records and have 8" average for November over the past eight years and I am only a few miles from Sandals Halcyon. Report as inappropriate

Hi, I came back from the Halcyon last week and the weather was brilliant! It rained only once during the day (I was there for 2 weeks). It did rain over night a few times but that didn't make any difference. As for bottled water, although its not included (unless you are in a concierge room), I heard a barman telling someone that if they want a bottle of water, to phone reception and ask to speak to the head barman and ask for it - apparently they then usually arrange for a bottle to be brought to you. I don't know if it works! The small bottles in the gift shop are $US1 each if not. I'm not sure about a bank - but there is a small mall about a 5 min walk up the (very busy!) road. My husband went up to it one day but I didn't fancy trying to cross the road! Hope this helpsLesley Report as inappropriate

Hi, Thanks for all your help, do any of you guys know if other soft drinks are inlcuded? Once again thanks. Matt Report as inappropriate

All soft drinks are included but not in bottles/cans, just from the bar (although I did notice that the Grande had cans of Diet Coke at breakfast that you could presumably take away!). Water was also available in a glass/cup from the bar. The range of soft drinks wasn't huge but was adequate. I was pregnant so couldn't partake in the alcohol so was quite fed up with soft drinks by my return! Lesley Report as inappropriate

There are a couple sizes bottled water in the gift shop. You can get a very large one for $2. Be aware that the soft drinks are not going to taste exactly like what you'd get in the US or UK, but they're ok. I went for more fruity things in general anyway. :) There's very little you're going to need a bank for unless you plan on spending huge amounts of cash at the outdoor markets. Everything you do at the Halcyon (except stamps) can be charged to your room - excursions, water, gifts, etc. The shops at Port Seraphine where the nicer jewelry, pottery, and crystal stores are take credit cards. Some of the outdoor market vendors take credit cards as well but you won't be able to haggle them down on price if you use credit over cash. I think we took $200 in cash and $300 in travelers cheques (don't ever take travelers cheques - they're worthless) and we came back with the vast majority of our money. We spent perhaps $100 in the markets and another $50 to $100 in tips for drivers and tour guides and snacks offsite. Then you'll need the cash for the departure tax unless your tour company includes that in your price (ours did). Report as inappropriate

I've stayed at Sandals resorts, but not this one. Softdrinks from a tap is included.Dave Report as inappropriate

All soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are included, however you will not get a bottle of pop. It is all fountain drinks. Are you staying in a Concierge level room? If so. you can probably get just about anything you want. Just ask the concierge to leave it in the fridge. The gift shops have water, munchies, and other essentials, but you will pay an arm AND a leg for them. Try to remember everything you will need. You will get a very small amenetie kit (sp?) All of your soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are included, however you will not get a "bottle" of pop. Everything is fountain. As for the bottled water, you have to buy it at the gift shop and it is not cheap. If you have a concierge room, you can get pretty much anything you want delivered to your fridge including water.
