2 month rental

We've done Puerto Vallarta for a total of three stints of three months each and am looking for a good snorkelling spot to frequent in St. Bart's if we can find a place to live nearby. We pay $1200.00 per month for a beautiful studio with large balcony and I'll kitchen, ocean view . it is a-one here but no snorkelling in the bay from shore. can anyone guide us in the right direction? Thanks...Jan

Wow, Jan, so sorry to disappoint, but it would be very difficult to find a rental in St. Barth's for $1200 a week during the winter , never mind a month. And it's really not the best snorkling island.

Lots of islands in the Caribbean, I suggest you keep looking! B

In the high season you are lucky to get 2 nights for 1200 USD - and that's not even the top hotel.

The going rate for a basic studio for saint barth residents is about 2200 euros per month on a standard 1 year lease . If you are looking at a shorter time period it will be more expensive as you are starting to get into the pricing for vacation rentals. Also properties that will rent for the short term tend to be nicer. Saint Barth is an expensive island for all, including the residents.

Yep, Jan....I think you have got a lot of Mexico in your future. PV is definitely a budget destination....St Barts is a luxury destination with prices to match. You couldn't come close to eating and drinking on St Barts for $1,200 a month and $1,200 isn't even a realistic budget fo a few nights accomodation. On our last trip there, our accomodations were $3,000 a WEEK.

Maybe Belize or somewhere else in Central America....
