Let me start by telling you that we live on Montserrat and own and operate The Green Monkey Dive Shop. With that said: we have several great beaches on Montserrat. Starting in the north and working south we have Rondezvous Bay Beach. It is our only white sand beach and is very secluded,. The only way to get there is by boat, kayak, or a 30 minute hike. The snorkeling there is fantastic. You can take a lunch and spend the day (please note that shade is limited). The next is Little Bay Beach, one of the most popular with the locals and tourist alike. Our dive shop is located on the south end of the beach. Carr's bay is next. It's not really the place to just lay around but the snorkeling is great on a calm day and there is a cannon inplacement and recreation of a few locations in the old Plymouth (a little history). Bunkum Bay is more to the center of the island. It's very small and quiet and, if you go, check out the Bunkum Bay beach bar for lunch. Woodlands beach is the most popular. It has a covered area for picnics and BBQ's. The beach is beautiful and there is great snorkeling as well. This is also the best place to watch the turtles nest during their season (generally August through October) A friend saw the amazing event of baby turtles hatching and swimming into the sea last Saturday night. The last beach is Lime Kiln beach. It is small and quiet with average snorkeling. For the more adventureous you can rent a 4wdrive Rav4 and head into the daytime exclusion zone to Fox's Bay or to the beach by the abandoned Hot Spring Hotel where you can dig your toes into the sand and feel a big temperature change.
Hope that helped. Let us know if we can answer any other questions or be of additional assistance.
