Montserrat - Human resources needed!!!

I was wondering if anyone would take the time to answer a few questions about any experiences they may have had of Montserrat before or after the volcano in 1995, or better even both. I would be very grateful for this information as I am doing a research project on Montserrat.

Some points I would like to be answered/covered are:

1. lifestyle

2. employment

3. social activities

4. leisure

5. overall well-being

6. services (i.e. healthcare, education)

I don't believe that there are many posters on this board that lived on the island prevolcano. Have you tried the Montserrat Tourism Board? The MVO sells a DVD of what it was like during the volcano that may be helpful...Good Luck.

Check out the DVDs made by David Lea

( which are the ones sold by the MVO )which are a complete video diary of the island before, during and after the increase in volcanic activity. Also the Montserrat Reporter, editor Bennett Roach is a good source of local news and comment.

I went to Montserrat in 1992 for 4 weeks with my husband and 2 children and I am happy to help if I can. I actually have some volcanic rock somewhere in my house obviously before the eruption. Montserrat was a truly beautiful island.
