Planning a trip to Puerto Rico and wondering has anyone stayed recently at either the Westin Rio Mar or the Caribe Hilton? Which is the best place to stay? Looking for a relaxing beach vacation.

just returned from the westin rio mar on the 25th. while its a nice hotel, its also isolated. the only thing nearby worth visiting is el yunque. other than that there's nothing to do. the hotel has a decent beach but horrible restaurants. if i had my choice, i'd stay closer to the condado area or in old san juan. however, if you do choose the westin i would suggest getting off campus and driving to the beautiful beaches in nearby lucillo or fajardo. hope this helps!

I am also going to Puerto Rico for pre cruise and the Heineken Jazz Festival in June. We are booked at the Hilton Caribe. Does anyone know if you can request that your room be in the new tower prior to arrival?
