It's expanding again. It is still a fantastic place. The private beach and the pool are great. We stopped in for a burger outside at the bar last May on our way back from OSJ. Did not see any problems. Have fun..

We've been twice and had a great experience both times.

Our first trip was July 2004 and our second trip January 2006. The first time there was construction- building a new section. We satyed in the tower- the room was OK.

The second time we stayed on the first floor of the new section. It was a great room, had a patio and wonderful view of the ocean.

We love the pool, grounds, and had an overall great experience.

I don't think you will be disappointed.

I visited last February and the pools and beach were as good as ever. This is still a great place for a vacation

What area of the hotel did you stay in? I have heard the towers is the most recently remodled. My husband is diamond with Hilton and so we most likely would get the executive floor. Is this the older section? Thanks

My wife and I stayed in the section overlooking the pool

My wife and I went to the Caribe in April for 5 days and we found the resort to be very nice. We were placed in one of the towers - I am some type of Hilton Honors member and presented my card. The room was fine. Apparently there are some villas on the grounds, but I don't know the price or upgrade. We had an ocean view. If you looked down you saw the roof of the main building, to the left you saw one of the other towers, but to the right you could see the naval castle, the ocean and the gardens below.

Beaches and pools were very nice. Beach was very calm due to the breakwall. Weekends had lots of local families flocking to the Caribe, so find a chair early or be disappointed. The restaurants were fine. We had lovely buffet breakfast in their main restaurants. There is a Mortons on the grounds which has the typical steak fare. Avoid the Asian restaurant as it was extremely overpriced with very small portions. You could order some great food pool or beach side so we usually had lunch on the grounds and then went into OSJ for dinner.
