Well I just did the drives from Kingston to PA, then PA to Mobay.
I hired Warren McKenzie, a great guy: reliable, kind, polite and a great tour guide. He's got a Corolla car but it has A/C!
Warren's cell: (876)883-9081 and email: email@example.com
I know he checks his email daily. I suggested to Warren that he register here on TA so he can answer all the PA questions.
Anyway, the 3 hour drive from Kingston to PA cost $100, and the 5 hour drive from PA to Mobay was $200.
Regarding roads: yes, from K to PA it is very scenic. Curvy coastal roads, mostly in good condition, with the occasional pot holes navigation required.
The road from PA to Mobay: weeeellllllllll......it's definitel doable, you just need to allow plenty of time if you have a flight to catch in Mobay.
The roads in PA are in poor conditon, i.e. potholes, and sometimes roads are not paved. The closer you get to Ochi, you will see that they have made great progress on the new road construction.
There was a 5-10 minute delay in Ochi, right at Couples San Souci. This was due to large earth movers working and the road was down to one lane. So, the flag person had to halt one lane to allow the other to pass, then visa versa.
After that, it was clear sailing until you get past Runaway Bay and closer to Mobay, where the construction has traffic slowed and the road is unpaved. Like I said, it is doable, but you must be prepared for it time-wise.
