 Couples Sans Souci

We are going to Couples Sans Souci in February and now I am having doubts about our choice as I have read alot of negative reviews on it. We requested a room in A block. Has anyone golfed at the Upton Club that is offered in the package (my husband plans on golfing a few times). Comments, reassurance...

Destination Expert   What's this?
for Petoskey

We were at Sans Souci a few years ago. At the time, it was independently owned (just before Couples took over) and I can assure you the resort is beautiful. The only thing I felt was lacking was the service. We've been to Couples Negril, and I remember thinking when Couples took over that the service would surely improve. A block is closest to the beach and beach bar, pool and pool bar, beach grill and the buffet style restaurant. A block is also the newest of the buildings, but also the rooms are smaller. We stayed in D block (right on the cliffside that you see in all the pictures) and the rooms were quite large and well kept. The thing I liked about D block was that it was at about the halfway point of the resort both in terms of elevation (a few steps up to the lobby/balloon bar area, a few steps down to the pool/beach area) and distance (between the pool/beach and spa/fitness/mineral pool. From A or B block you'll have a long walk (or shuttle ride) to the lobby/fine dining/balloon bar area. It's also a long walk to the spa/fitness/mineral pool area. Your walk to the nude beach section however will be very short.

I'm an avid golfer, though I did not golf while we were there...I'm not nuts about Jamaican golf.

Rest assured...if you're looking for a quiet, romantic, luxurious, pampering experience, you've booked the right hotel!

We were married at San Souci 2-01 and we thought the service

was flawless. We loved the resort so much that we are going

back in Feb. (6th-13th). What are your dates?

I don't think you made a mistake, I think some people are way

too picky, and just never happy.

We are going at the end of Feb. I hope your trip to Sans Souci is a great one. Post when you get back and let me know. I agree some people are way to picky. I have requested A block. I'm sure the exercise is a good thing! We have been to Iberostar Costa Dorada in Puerto Plata the last three years and it was awesome so hope Sans Souci is as good. Do you have to dress up for all your dinners?

Chico, the dress code for the french restaurant is the most

formal. Closed toed shoes and long pants for men.

I think they did away with the sports jacket once required.

You must eat there at lest once, the food is fabulous!

(Well, it was 6 years ago, hope it hasn't changed)

Will post when we get back. Have a great time as well!
