What do you mean run of the house? The lowest level room? We stayed in an oceanview suite in the A and B block. It's one of the higher room ctegories. We looked at other rooms while we were there and to be honest, they're all nice and I think some of the less expensive rooms are nicer then the more expensive rooms.

Thanks DenverTravelGirl. Run of the house means whatever is available so I was curious to know if anyone had received upgraded rooms. I am glad to hear that the rooms are nice.

We were in (IIRC) B15, very nice. I think it was the lowest category room that we booked and as far as I know we didn't get an upgrade.

A & B block are actually the higher level rooms BUT over half the rooms at the resort are in the A or B block so if you book a lower level room there is a high probability you will get an "upgrade" to the A or B block because there are so many of those rooms. We checked them all out when were there. Yes, the "penthouse" suites ( i believe there are only 4 of these) are much larger and nicer then the others but the rest of the rooms were all nice and I think they all have thier pluses and minuses. I would feel comfortable in any one of them. Enjoy Sans Souci, it's a wonderful place.

A great big "HI" from Iscubanow47. We are going to Sans Souci the same week this year as we did when we met you at CSA last year. How was the diving? Critters? Coral, nice colors and abundant?

I got some nice equipment for Christmas that I am dying to tryout. How is your puppy? Ours (yellow lab) is now almost 11 mo's old and totally awesome!

emileee...when we booked a couple of years ago, there were really only two room catagories (aside from the penthouses) I think the terms used were Oceanview and Oceanfront...the oceanfront obviously where the upgrade and were rooms in A and B blocks. The A and B block rooms are at sea level (no steps) and are newer, but significantly smaller. We stayed in D block, which for my money is the best block, you're located just on the cliff with a great view of the ocean and grounds plus you're halfway between the ocean/pool/bar area and the upper lobby/fine dining/balloon bar area. Our room was older, but very clean and well kept and about twice the size of the A/B block rooms. For the location, I certainly wouldn't pay any extra for A/B rooms, but I'd try to shy away from blocks E and F as they're way up top and quite a hike to the buffett, pool and ocean.

Hello there! Lucky you: going back to Couples. We were going to Couples twice a year but we're not going at all this year. We're getting married in Mexico in July and it's going to eat away at most of our vacation days so we'll have to wait until 2008 for Jamaica. Diving at Sans Souci was good... a pretty good wreck dive is available. Did we send out pictures?

The dog is awesome... up to 45 lbs. We love her.
