A Place to Stay for the Youngins

Hey all,

I am in the process of planning a spirng break for two of my girlfriends and I. I'm debating between Jamaica, the Dominican and Cuba. Of course we three all want to do different things: scuba diving, partying, and lying on the beach. I haven't been to any of these places and was wondering which was the best for three young single gals. Then comes the question of where to stay. I've been looking at mostly cottage units with kitchens... none the of A.I.s really appealed to me... am I missing something? And it would be great to get an idea of a budget... how much meals cost, groceries, etc. Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it!

Greetings,

It really depends on what sort of vacation you are hoping for, as to which island is "best" for you. I personally, REAAAAALLLLLY love Jamaica, but to be completely honest, if you are looking for a lot of nightclub type dancing etc, you might be best with Cuba as it tends to be more geared that way. In general, Jamaica tends to be more about taking it easy and enjoying the beach etc. and perhaps a bit less "active"

Of course that's all generalization...

There are lots of great non A/I places in Jamaica, although it does tend to be an A/I destination for many. If you are looking for a nice combination of sun and nightlife, you should probably look into some villas or appartments right in the town of Ochi, or Mobay or on the beach in Negril. Mondance Villas are beautiful if you can afford them...

I would rule out the Dominican, but you might also look into Barbados as it tends to be a non A/I destination and there are countless places to stay and lots of great dining choices.

Have fun planning, enjoy no matter where you end up.

Blessings and respect.

Steve
