It was not crowded at all in my opinion. You could always find a chair at the waterpark. Our room was right there and we had kids so that is where we stayed.

We did not eat at the restaurants because we had picky eaters with us so we ate at the buffet every night. In my opinion, if you are looking to eat at a Ruth Chris steakhouse everynight then the buffet is not for you. I always found something that I liked there. Buffet food is what it is and it is not cooked for you and only you. I thought it was great compared to what we had last year at Rose Hall. Lots of variety and if you don';t find something then you can always get a hot dog or hamburger or whatever at the grill.

You will have a good time don't worry. You like me, have read this website inside and out so you will have no surprises! Enjoy!!!!!!

Charrida, Thanks so much for your replies. You know you see a couple of bad reviews and then you worry. I'm not paying attention to bad reviews anymore. I know that there is not one resort in the world that is going to please all people all the time. And I'm not going to Jamaica for the gourmet food. I'm sure we are going to love it and will have a great time.

charrida, we leave this Sunday for SSB and I have a question regarding beach toys (buckets, shovels, etc). Are there any there for the kids, or should we lug our own. I've heard you can buy them in the gift shop, but they are expensive. We planned on bringing them and leaving them there.

Also, did your kids use the Kidz Club?

There you go that's the right attitude to have, ignore the not so great posts! I was like you, but there wasn't anything that surprised me at all. Everything is how the posts described it to be. It was great having all of the information because I was ahead of the game especially with the rooms. We ran into a family from our school that had to switch rooms because of the noise from the disco, already knew that so wasn't a problem for us! You will have a great time while you are there and you will come back and post and tell us all about it!

We only used the kidzclub once and that was for a monopoly game that fizzled out. Our boys range in age from 8-12 so they were pretty much in the pool most of the time .

It seemed very nice when I filled out the paperwork though.

If you think you are going to use the buckets then you should bring them because the gift shop is expensive. Depending on the age of your kids they might want to be at the pool with the slides. Most kids were at the pool floating on the inner tubes or playing at the pool entrance. The beach is narrow so there is not huge areas like on the East Coast here for lots of sand castle building.

Charrida, thanks. Forgot about the beach being narrower than here. Think I'll leave the sand toys at home! Kids are 10, 9 & 7. I'm sure they'll be at the pool/slides most of the time too! 5 days to go - can't wait!

Alysmom, We have 7 days to go and can't wait. This is the first time out of the country for both of us. I feel like a kid in a candy store. My future husband and I keep talking about how we are not going to be able to sleep the night before we leave....LOL.

We packed just a very few sand toys and it worked out perfectly. Just a few small shovels/diggers and they were very popular w/ all the kids there. They used the empty plastic cups to mold sand castles and carry water to create moats. There is a sandcastle building contest on a few days w/ kids klub, and kids joined right in on the beach and they seemed to have some toys available during that time. Our kids were at the Kids Klub just a little bit b/c we were only there 4 nights. But my 6 y.o. loved all the games (bingo, quizes etc) b/c they gave out cool Jamaican prizes (drums, yo-yos, pencil). And don't miss the evening games time when there is a band (it will be posted) they have the kids/pre-teens/adults in different groups do games and my kids had an absolute blast! It was super fun to watch and (for them) to play!

Hey NJ, I can totally relate! Haven't been sleeping much this week at all!! And forget about concentrating here at the office..LOL!
