 Water & Beaches???

My brother has last minute trip planned for Nov. 10 to go to Negril. We are getting a really great deal, but before I commit I was wondering if anyone knows the real truth on what the beaches and the water are looking like in Negril. Can anyone speculate what they will be like in November? One big thing I wanted to do down there was snorkel and I am scared that the water will be too murky. Can anybody help me with this???

You should not have any problems in Negril with muddy water. We stayed at Couples Negril last October and the water was clean and warm. Enjoy!

Please check the many posts on this forum about the area of Negril. They have recovered very well and are welcoming tourists again. For snorkeling, I will ask you to define what section of Negril have you been offered your "DEAL".

The west end, center section or Bloody Bay.

Once you have found that out, then do some more checking on the sites like negril.com,

negriljamaica.com, jamaicanegril.com, jamaicaconnection.com, negriltoday.com

You will have the best time in Jamaica above the sea level.

Well, my sister-in-law's brother goes to Negril twice a year so he is pretty knowledgable in where to go and not to go, and he always gets deals due to booking last minute. But I was concerned that there were no beaches as one person commented previously due to Ivan.

I congratulate anybody who gets a good deal into Jamaica.

It means that they have done their homework and therefore deserve it.

They are hundreds of realy good deals available in Jamaica.

Especially for anyone willing to venture away from the big hotel chains.

Hopefully someone will help you by posting a SPECIFIC answer about snorkeling.

One couple just got back and said everything was fine on the beaches and in the water.

If you do some searching on the sites mentioned earlier you will find two places that deal with scuba and diving. Contact them directly.

Last week of September 2004: the beaches and water are beautiful! People were scuba diving and the water was clear. The beaches seem good, but I saw some workers raking and rebuilding, but you only notice if you were in Jamaica in the past. As a new visitor, the beaches seemed perfect to me, but I was told that they had a gentler slope before, but seriously I noticed nothing wrong.
