Hello impatientmoo,
Their website provides some nice details.
The trip advisor reports are amazing to read. This place is not for everyone. People either love it or hate it and come on this forum to complain bitterly.
At the top left hand side of this page you can type into the SEARCH column to get access to these reports.
One person went with his wife and family and stayed on this forum for one month complaining about the cats. We later discovered that his wife was alergic to cats and the hotel did not compensate him for his two week trip. He was also a very obnoxious tourist.
Jamaicans are very cool and relaxed in their mannerisms and the way they do everything. The quicker that you get used to this the better you will enjoy your vacation.
It may take a few days to adapt to this speed, but by the end of the week you will love the relaxed feeling. When you get back home, you will miss it.

Congratulations and enjoy the trip.
Just returned from a week stay at Beaches Boscobel yesterday. It was a wonderful vacation - and a wonderful resort! The staff really are fantastic and truly want to make your stay great. Are you traveling with a family - any children? I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have - but know that you'll have a wonderful time at a beautiful resort!
I am glad to hear that you had a great time... any thing you would change - if possible?
I am getting married there in November '06 - will be traveling with 3yo and wife to-be and additional guests!
What tours or excursions did you take?
Well - I would have loved to stay longer. We really "waisted" our first day changing rooms. We originally had a beautiful room right on the beach, but it was directly above Arizonas (a restaurant). It had a beautiful view with the windows open, but the window was only about a foot and a half above the floor. My 2 year old could've climbed right out of it - so we had to keep the windows closed. Well, with the noise from the restaurant and the fact that we had to keep all of the windows closed, the room just didn't work for us. We moved to room 1326 - and it was perfect. It had a huge balcony that overlooked the ocean - and although it was much further from the beach, it was nicer, and perfect for us. If you have a 3 year old, I would suggest one of the rooms in this building (same building as the lobby) - I believe that they all have really nice, large balconys and they are all really nice size. They have a drop down "family room" and this is where we put our baby's crib (so we had a little privacy).
As far as the tours, we did the canopy tour (which was an amazing experience) and the water tubeing (which was more relaxing and lots of fun). My husband and my father did the horseback riding in the water and they loved it. I almost wished I would have gone with them. They were all great! Let me know if you're interested in any of these and I'll be happy to give you more details. All of the staff that work with the Chukka tours are wonderful and make the excursions fantastic. Make sure you book them through the hotel and ask to see Jasmine. She books the tours and is absolutely wonderful. My 2 year old loved her (let her know that baby Justin and family said hi).
Hi we are going in late March, we have a deluxe family room. What is the noise level like if it is in the main block? How late does the noise go on for, as we have a 14 month who is into crawling, but needs his sleep?
Jonnyjabbah - we actually booked the deluxe family room, but were upgraded to a Grande Luxe Oceanview Suite (without asking). We were in the west wing - just next to (and a story above) the lobby. We had a large balcony, and if we left the glass doors open, we could hear the nightly entertainment, but with the doors closed, it was pretty quiet. We could hear a little of the base from the music, but it wasn't bad at all. When we put on the TV, we didn't hear anything. We have a 23 month old and he slept great the entire night. The main block should have the same noise level, as they are right next to eachother. You'll all be so exhausted from the activities and sun during the day that I'm sure you'll sleep great. Enjoy - I know that you'll have a fantastic time! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I hope that you have been reading this...
Thanks Cali Girl. How was your 23 month old in the nursery, did you leave him ther long. Did you use any of the babysitting service to have a romantic meal. Where did you eat and what sort of time?
We left our son in daycare almost every day for his nap. We didn't want to sit in our room while he slept - and if he doesn't get a nap, he can be miserable. Most days, we droped him off around 11 and he would either go right to sleep or they would take him for lunch and he would nap afterwards. Then, we would pick him up around 3ish. They are really good there and really enjoy the kids. We even left the resort for an excursion one of the days and he stayed there. I'm a very overprotective mother and was very nervous about this, but the woman at the excursion desk (Jasmine) was wonderful and my son really took to her. She promised that she would check on him and make sure he was okay. When I went to pick him up afterwards, they told me that Jasmine came in and played with him for quite a while. He was absolutely fine.
We had planned on going to Elenors (adult only restaurant) one of the nights and use the babysitting services, but we never got around to it. There was just so much else to do and we were actually pretty tired by the end of the day. We eat at all of the other restaurants, though. Venetian was probably the best. Arizonas and the buffet were good, as well. On fridays, the buffet has a lobster night - all you can eat lobster tails. That was fantastic! We would eat dinner typically between about 6:30 and 7:30 and it was not crowded at all. I think the most we had to wait was a half hour for the Venetian and we just went to the bar and had a drink while we waited.
Everyone at the resort is really wonderful and they will do whatever they can to make your trip enjoyable. Try to go to the Managers party (I think it's at 5 or 5:30 on Mondays). They are all great and it's really nice to meet and know who the actual managers are.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. ENJOY!
This forum is great and thanks for going to all the effort to reply to my questions, as parents we just want to be as fully prepared as possible. Did you do a private car transfer or take the Beaches one, what was the drive like. Did you do anything different to help you get through the flight or transfer. Did you tip?
