Negril sounds like the place for us! And the entertainment thing. We are not big party people but I think it would be enchanting to listen to the wonderful bands I see that perform nightly at the resorts.

I have a very good basis to start building my vacation plans on!

We have stayed at Swept Away and it is a beautiful resort. Take a look at their website at couples.com so you can compare all of the Couple resorts.

Neither Couples Negril or Swept Away are big party resorts however they do have entertainment and if you stay at Swept Away there are great clubs down the beach with live reggae shows (Alfred's, Margaritaville and a disco)

Swept Away is a great place for two people to relax and enjoy yourself.

Beach parties, movie night on the beach, bonfire with acoustic guitar player and singer will melt your heart!!

The older rooms are very nice, have a tropical feel to them and very private, only four rooms to a building (Atrium suite).

Swept Away has the nicer sunsets, 7 mile beach which is great for long walks.

I am sure any of the resorts would please you however please check out Swept Away it is amazing.

Yes, Minerva, there is the Sandals right next to the new Riu Ochio Rios which some rooms do have quite a view of. We stayed there Jan 9-16 and our friends had a view that sort of looked directly at it and yet were overlooking our pool as well. It wasn't UGLY, just not as pretty as the Riu. The Sandals has an orange-yellow color but it's quite attractive in it's own style which really sort of clashes with the light purple Riu that is brand new. I really don't think it was an eye sore at all, and I talked to couples who had stayed there previously and they said it was GORGEOUS once inside, the pools were quite large and lovely. It has a very small beach area (we sailed past it twice) compared to some resorts I"ve been at, but it was neat and looked nice as well. I know our friends who planned our trip had found it was alot more expensive than the Riu deal we got, so that was one of our considerations.

Just take all information with you when you start making your decisions, I'm sure they're all nice in their own ways!

Which of the two Negril Couple's resorts would you say impressed you the most. My husband thinks the pool area is super at the Couple's Negril. But I thought the dining and tropical look was outstanding at Swept Away.

This is our 10th anniversary trip and I want it to be special.

LittleMinerva~another Swept Away fan here. As far as the pools, Swept Away is about to open some new additons to their resort. Included in this is a new infinity pool with swim up bar. Everything(including pool)is scheduled to be done before june.

Your husband would be correct the pool at Couples Negril by far beats out Swept Away however....... why would you use the pool when there is a beautiful beach in front of you.

Swept Away will have their new pool open within the next couple of nights so I would think it will be much nicer as it is new.

As you are going in June you have lots of time and the pool will be finshed.

I was worried last year when we chose a resort thinking there was likely something better. It was our first trip to the Caribbean and we are going back in 11 days!!!!!!

Go girl, book it now. You will not regret it

Although these 2 resorts are represented by Couples, they feel and appear so different.

They have 2 different type of ambiances.

Swept is laid back, very tropical in setting and very west indian styled rooms. Rooms are more secluded and unique in style. Service is fantastic. Very intimate and romantic resort! Feathers restaurant is just fabulous~

Pool is nothing at SA. Its all about there stretch of beach which is second to none!

Couples Negril, I feel is lovely as well..yet more lively. More happening...more upbeat feel. A different flavor, depending what your style is. The pool/deck/jacuzzi area is magnificent. Beach is nice..not as pristine as at SA. In my experiences,food is better at SA. Of course they have the lovely Spa and setting surrounding that this is very nice.

Wow...this is a tough call. I would love to speak with personally, because this is about what fits with your personality best. They are both wonderful resorts. I have stayed at each maybe 10 times or so. I would love to talk with you to help you zero in on whats right for you and hubby on that special anniversary. I have many many pictures as well of both resorts, but I am sure you jave probably seen plenty of those.
